Plugging An Instrument To Your Mac

How do i go about plugging in like a guitar to my powerbook????

i want to track something with garageband,but i dont really know how to go on about this. If anyone can help me or have any advice on this??
or on plugging like a line pod to your mac also. that would be cool.

Your powerbook features a Audio-In port. I use the Monster iStudioLink cable to connect my guitar to the mac.

When conencted, go to System Prefs, Sound, Input and choose the right input source. I don't know whether pwoerbooks have an in-built mic, but if so, you computer might choose that instead of the audio-in port so make sure to check that.
