• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi,

i want to capture video that is streamed via the internet (its Australian football) but it gets a little trickier as it is footage that can only be viewed using a windows computer. I want to capture it on my wifes PC Laptop and then somehow convert the file to some sort of mac friendly format.

You may wonder why i want to go to such lengths. Well its because i have subscribed to this Australian internet company (telstra bigpond) that give Australians who live outside of Australia access to Aussie football games. For some reason it doesn't work on Mac computers. My wifes laptop is ok but the footage is always 'rebuffering stream' and its really annoying. I figured i could somehow capture it and then watch it later (on my imac) without pauses etc.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

A.
