Installing fonts problems.........

Having jumped in the deep end as a newbie I have managed to install a specific font on both an Intek based iMac and an older one. Despite many attempts I cannot get this same font onto a Mac Book Pro - what am I doing different - or wrong?

How have you installed it? Do a search for 'Linotype Font Explorer'. Download it and use it to activate your font.

Have used both Font Book and the Linotype Font Explorer [which seems a better programme] and neither will work.

Am thinking of re-installing system as trying to run "Security" in Preferences crashes and generates an error report. Could this be connected?
