Hello, World!
I'm a "Switcher-to-Be" and I'm interested in the new iMac with the 1.83 Core Duo CPU. At least that's what my money allows me to buy
I wanted to know if it's going to be "faster" than my current PC (which I admit is old, yet still serves me in the ways I want it to, even when running PhotoShop).
My current PC is:
"Important" features:
__________________
Pentium4, Socket-478, 2.0GHz (Yes, the first generation, dating back to 2001-2002. No HyperThreading, etc).
1.3GB DDR RAM, @333MHz.
nVidia GeForce2 MX/MX400, AGP 4x, 64MB RAM.
"For-Your-Information" features:
____________________________
Primary HDD 40GB UATA133 (For Windows and Installations)
Secondary HDD 120GB UATA100 (Storage)
DVD-Rom
DVD-R 16x Dual Layer
What do you think? Are these Core Duos better than a P4, even an old one?
For example, if I also install Windows on the iMac, will it feel and/or actually BE faster than my current system?
Thanks for your time, guys and I'm looking forward to an answer! Take care!
