Hi all,
I'm new here and also new to the Mac world. I've been into computers all my life and have been using Linux for a good portion of it. I'm now trying to get some experience on OS X since I came across an old (Rev A) iMac. Now, the problem is, I'm trying to get OS X on there. I do understand that it will run very slowly, but I'd like to give it a try.
I have a retail copy of 10.3, but all efforts to get it to boot have been failures. I've tried pressing C during startup, I've reset the PRAM, pressed C some more, and tried more things. The closest I've gotten is a blinking mac face/question mark on a folder icon. The firmware on this mac seems to be 3.0.f3, which I've read should be enough to run OS X.
I've been searching the web and trying things for two days and have yet to find anything, so I thought I'd come directly ask the experts and I hope that someone here can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance,
David
