i am looking at getting a macbook pro, and having used a pc for my whole life i have quite a few questions.... lol!!

one of these questions being..

can i connect to the internet with my current 2wire (wireless) broadband modem/router or do i need an airport thing?

Yes, you should be able to connect to that as long as the signal is strong enough for the macbook pro to pick up.
