Good Quality Lenses

Hello everybody, I have just bought a canon xl2 and would like to know what you guys would recommend for what kind of lens to get. I would like one that will get me the best quality of picture for general use (if you know of a lens for a special use, still, please share) Price is somewhat of a concern but if you highly recommend a really good lens i will consider saving up for a longer period of time.

There's a wideangle lens we use for work on our XL2 that's awesome. I'm told it's $1100 but most good lens aren't cheap. I'll post the maker when I'm at work again.

1100 is reasonable when i said expensive i meant in the 5+ thousand dollar range i have seen alot of those around and those are more then i am willing so spend unless they are really worth it.
