File Viewer for Mac?

I am thinking of switching over but there is one thing holding me back. With XP, I use Copernic Desktop Search which lets me search for files and quickly scroll through the results with a preview of each file that it finds with the search terms highlighted. Spotlight will do the search but there is no file viewer meaning I will have to open each file individually, a cumbersome process when there are many files.

Does anybody know of a way to integrate Spotlight with a file viewer or of a program does does this? I am looking at something called Path Finder which has a preview pane, but I am not sure it does what I am looking for.

When you open a new Finder window, there is a view called "Column View". There is also a Spotlight search bar in every window, these two combined will yield pretty much exactly what you're looking for.

Sorry, but I don't understand. As I remember, the Finder column gives you a "thumnail" of the file. I need a full viewer, especially of HTML and word processing files, ideally with the search terms highlighted or at least the ability to search the preview. Otherwise, I have to open each found file separately and do a search. That is way to slow when I have to scan dozens of files.

i dont have no mac's
i have never thought of using something like that. i have found that properly named files in well thought out ffile folders work just fine for me but your needs just might be more different.

just remember that when you are switching to a different operating system you might need to do something a little differently

I have FileGazer, it works just as advertised, but I prefer to keep it all in Finder. No matter what the size of the thumbnail. There's always Preview...

Yeah, Finder works fine for me. Plus, I am VERY anal about filenames and where I save things to. I like to keep things neat and tidy. Makes searching for something quick and easy, as I can limit my search to one folder.
