I have a Mac mini. I have a Logitech camera that I rarely plug in but have used it to Facetime on the computer. I'm taking some online music lessons where I need to send video to my instructor. I plugged in the camera, started the camera software where I get a message that another app in using the camera and it is unavailable. How do I find out what is using the camera so I can take videos? Thanks in advance for any help.

Instead of the camera software, try using Quicktime and its New Movie Recording function in the File Menu.

You didn't provide us with much data to go on, but there are two other apps on a Mac that have access to the camera: Photo Booth.app and FaceTime.app. It could be either one of them.
