Apple Tech Support

It says on the Apple Support website (Europe) that within the complementary 90 days free tech support any calls to Apple Tech are free (even though it is a non-geographic national phone number) but I have been charged considerable sums on my phone bill. Have complained to Apple but they haven't replied.

Anyone else experience this? I am new to Apple and Macs and am not sure whether I'm 'missing' something.

Any ideas?

Well, if you're not calling a toll-free number, you're going to have your wire charges. I don't think they meant to imply that you wouldn't.

Or are you saying you were billed from Apple on your phone bill?

You didn't receive any bills from Apple for tech support did you? That is what is free, not any costs like phone calls, or gas to get down to the nearest apple store, or the plane ticket to fly to an apple store, etc etc. It's the tech support itself that is free.
