We are recording in front of a white screen. The camera frame extends beyond the set so in iMovie post production we place some white borders over the edges. These borders are pure white and in iMovie they appear to blend perfectly with the actual white set background.
After exporting, on Mac desktop the video also looks great. However, when viewing the exported file on an iPhone, the white borders we added show pure white but the background of the set shows pinkish and create a clear, ugly contrast with the borders that we added! On Android it appears grey. This happens both in the original exported file and when uploaded to YouTube. This only happens when viewed in the text or Skype thread though. When viewed on YouTube from a browser in mobile it’s fine.
What’s MORE bizarre is that when I take a screen shot on the iPhone, this color contrast disappears and it all looks nice and white again! Almost spooky.
I got the attached image, which shows the contrast, by taking a photo of my iPhone from a different phone.
Why on earth could this be happening and what can we do to fix it?
Thank you SO much.
