Is iCloud suitable for exchange of general data beween friends?

Late 2015 iMac 21.5; 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5; 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, Mojave.
I have a friend who has offered to send me some books about music, like "fakebooks" and instruction manuals. He asked me if I had any cloud storage, and if he were "invited" he could use that.

I set up iCloud on my iMac, but I found nothing that appears to offer that facility. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

iCloud is really meant as a backup means for your data for your use only. It isn't designed for sharing/collaboration. Sites like Box, DropBox are better suited for that..
