The microphone on my iPhone 7 Plus has stopped working on certain apps (Snapchat and voice memos), but works perfectly fine on the stock camera and FaceTime. I can use Snapchat and voice memos with my earpods though. I just updated my phone, and nothing has changed, and I haven't seen anyone with a similar problem so I'm afraid it's a hardware problem. Can someone please tell me there's an easy fix for this?

If the microphone works with some apps and not others, it doesn't sound like a hardware problem. You might want to try a reset of the phone using iTunes. First, however, backup your phone. And of course, if your iPhone 7+ is still under warranty, you should let Apple look at it.
