Record to MP4

We're live streaming events and using either BoinxTV software of Blackmagic's Media Express. Both save the recording to .mov files which I later have to encode to mp4 before I can upload them to Youtube. Is there a program out there that can record directly to mp4 and save this step?

You can use QuickTime to record and save as mp4 files.

Thanks chscag, how do I save as mp4 file? I did a quick test and I when I saved it, it saved as an .mov file. There was no option to save as mp4. And if it did, would I have to wait until it encodes the whole video file. I'm looking for something that will record live and at the end, save it and it saves as an mp4. I guess, encoding as it goes is what I mean to say.
