I've downloaded 90 gig of self development audio files and around 20 gig of music but I can't get most of it onto my iPad. I have a 128 gig iPad Air 2 that's only 30 gig full!

I've tried

Copying the folder and putting it in iTunes
It won't let me drag and drop so far as I can work out!
I've tried to 'add folder to library'

Now I still don't have all the files but have loads of duplicates!!!

Please help,

How many gigs FREE...does your iPad have?

I know this sounds like a silly question...but guess what...128gig - 30gig does not = what you have free.;)

Thanks,

- Nick

A 128GB iPad has about 115-117GB of usable space. Assuming your audio files/music are all in separate files/folders, you can add them to your iPad on the Music tab and see how much will fit and once you reach the limit, stop and sync.

Yes the iPad had 120 gig free in the beginning and still has 75 gig free.

I'm trying to drag and drop the self development files into iTunes now...could take a few hours.

Though I think I have already tried this....and am just duplicating the files that were in iTunes anyway.

Are all of the files in formats that the iPad can play? If you are not sure try playing them in iTunes.

Thanks for the free gigs info.:) About 110gig's of stuff was mentioned in post #1. With 75gig's free it's clear not all of that will fit.

I generally don't like to copy "massive" amounts of stuff all at one time (I have troubles doing this in the past on different devices). I prefer to copy things in smaller chunks. For example...I personally wouldn't do all 90gig of the self development files all at once (especially since they total 15 gig's more than the iPad will hold).

Good luck,

- Nick

I tried dropping and dragging the self development files in smaller chunks but still couldn't fill up my iPad.

It does say that '100 files can not be played on my iPad'.

But my iPad is showing 75gig free and over got a lot of duplicates which shouldn't mean 50 gig of self development files in total!

Can you play these files using iTunes on a Mac or PC (it would be nice to know what your "main" computer is)?

I'm on Microsoft laptop...

It's difficult to see what's has been copied into iTunes and what isn't....

It seems to be that cd1 will go onto the iPad and not cd2 for example!

I don't know what format all the files are in but some are in...

VCD-XVHS
WMA
MP3 (mostly I think)

Thanks,

The mp3 files are usually fine but the I don't think the WMA files are supported in iTunes without being converted first. See here. The same is true for the VCD-XVHS files. If any of these files are copy protected that's another issue.

Thanks,

I'll have to go through the files and check what type of files there are.

Although it seems that from an 'album' of self development files, only certain tracks 'songs' from the self development files are being added.

Please explain, in excruciating detail, where you are getting these files. How you are getting them onto your computer and then perhaps into iTunes and if they play properly in iTunes before trying to sync to the iPad. We've been through nearly 10 posts without a clear idea of what you are doing. The more detail you provide, the better we can help you..

I got these files through bit comet and pirate bay. I've separated the self development files into a self development folder with 75 gig of files in the self development folder.

I have added this folder to iTunes, 'imported' the folder through iTunes and I tried dragging and dropping the files to iTunes.

The files I downloaded were

2x15 gig and a few other files between 1-5 gig.

And with that, we are done. We do not condone piracy on these forums. Read the guidelines in my signature..
