This sounds pretty interesting. A screen that has the camera built in, but not in the way you think. May be coming from Apple soon.

the NSA is going to replace all television and computer screens with this technology so they can watch us. So be sure to build that next pipe bomb in front of the television or while you read the directions on your computer.

thats awsome, would be kind of worrysome if someone could manipulate those sensors from another computer though.

The iMacs with iSight have the UNIX command "screencapture isight" don't they?

It wouldn't be that hard to snap a shot of an iMac w/iSight user and send it back to a remote location...

As far as I remember, that command saves a snapshot of the actual screen (hence the name screencapture) and saves it to a file called isight.
Don't have an iSight iMac here to try, but I will try it tomorrow at work...just out of curiosity.

I could've sworn I saw a hint on MOSXHs that documented the ability to "monitor" your computer from a remote location via SSH and this command...

Ahh, the paranoia. It sounds a lot like those people who put a piece of paper on their CRT, thinking it will be scanned into their computer. Or the person who gives tech support access to their PC and thinks that tech support can see THEM!!

You can almost guarantee that Apple's new monitors will have IR sensors built in for front row. Probably a bluetooth ir sensor for front row or something.
