• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

ok i have an intel duo core mini and you know how it has the remote and you can use it to play videos and music and whatnot. well i can play mpegs and movs fine, but it wont play avi's for some reason, im assuming it uses quicktime, but i used rosetta to install flip4mac and i can play the videos fine if i just drag em to quicktime. so i dont know why it doesnt wanna work, and i dont wanna convert the files because theyre full movies, the one im trying to watch it over a gig. so if anyone has any ideas thatd be great.

thanks

Try using VLC media player, it can play most avi codecs that quicktime has a problem with. I'm not sure if it is Universal Binary yet tho.
