Burning DVD with toast question

I was burning a back-up of Road Trip using Toast Titanium 6. I placed the VIDEO_TS folder into the Video section of the program selecting the following options:

DVD-Video
NTSC
Standard Quality
Add Original Photos
Create DVD Menu

The result is a DVD that works in both my computer and Sony DVD player, however it DOES NOT have the usual DVD menus that the original has. Instead it has some type of generic menu that displays a clip and the file names (ie: VTS_01_1)...

How do I make a back-up that is identical, with menus and all?

What does chaning those options do for me? Especially regarding the "Video Quality" option?

When I back up videos like this, will I get the same video and sound quality (ie: digital surround)?

My guess is that when you are using DVD2OneX You are choosing film only instead of "copy disc"

I don't know too much about Toast 6 because well, it just sucked IMO.

But basically I think you need to choose Data then DVD-ROM.

But werent you having problems with .DS_Store? Basically after you add it to Toast 6 you just select the .DS_Store and remove it. And then you should be fine...

In toast use the copy disk tab.

is toast 6 titanium the way to go for burning dvd's. i'm using a g4 i-mac with super drive

I suggest Toast 5.2 for burning anything..

no I used Copy Disk in DVDoneX, if I open the VIDEO_TS folder with iDVD then it plays corectly, menus & all...

And when I burned the CD using the DVD-UDF setting (under data) the DVD player on my Mac or my Sony player would not recognize it....
