• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Cannot see video in iMovie window

Hi,

I have a Sony camcorder, and I cannot see the video in my iMovie window. I have the newest version, just purchased.

I have done ALL of the obvious things, like turn the camera on and off, reconnect the firewire cable, etc.

The weird thing is that it worked exactly once about six months ago, but I haven't had any luck since.

My daughter's one-year birthday party is Sunday and I was hoping to make a DVD.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Julie

You do have the camera in VCR mode, when you turn it on?

The next thing to check is what coach_z suggested. Check the toggle switch between the camera and scissors, make sure it is on the camera side. The scissors side is used when you are editting your video and the camera side is used in importing your video.
