The instructions for adding additional RAM to my 2011 iMac say I'm limited to 16GB total. I've also been told that I can add more than that. I have 8GB installed. I purchased a 16GB kit. Do I return the 16GB kit for an *GB kit or install the additional 16GB kit?

Hello and welcome to the forum! :) You need to be more specific about your specific 2011 iMac - go to EveryMac and use the Lookup tab (see first pic below - arrow) - there I've chosen a 2011 iMac (not sure if this is your model?) - but once the correct one is identified, there are abundant specs - I scrolled down to RAM and for that computer where the memory upgrades are described - for this machine, the official upgrade is 16 GB, but appears that it can take 32 GB - if you live in the USA, check w/ Other World Computing - give them a call w/ your specific iMac information and they can offer suggestions. Good luck - Dave
