I want to run windows 10 on a external hard drive and do not want to partition my actual MacBook SSD. After I go though all the process of the bootcamp I have my External Hard Drive plugged in so the ISO windows 10 file goes onto my external drive (what I am trying to accomplish) but it won't do that.
Can someone help thanks

The Microsoft EULA forbids running Windows 10 on an external drive in most instances. I believe the only time Windows 10 can be run from an external drive is if you have the Enterprise Pro Edition and perhaps certain educational editions. In any event, it doesn't matter because the Boot Camp Assistant does not support it anyway.
