From my MacBook Pro, I need to remote access my windows computer at work. What is the best (don't want to spend a lot of money) software to use?

I use TeamViewer. It is free for personal use. I have it installed on my MB Air and at work on a Windows 10 computer and a Mac Pro. I have used it many times and it works flawlessly.

As Lisa suggested, TeamViewer is a good, free choice.

Another free choice is to use VNC, which is built-in to your Mac.

Download this and install it on your Windows box:

UltraVNC (for Windows) FREE
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ultravnc/

Make a note as to the IP address of the Windows box.

Go into System Preferences --> Sharing --> File Sharing on the Mac

Make sure your Mac is in the same workgroup as the Windows box.

They should then both see each other and be able to share.

Have a look at:

Yes, TeamViewer is the easiest to setup and use. VNC will be more complex.

When I set mine up I took my MB Air to work and set the two up at the same time. Made it easier if there was a click on one that needed to be done to accept something. It has been a long time since I set it up so sorry, I don't have exact information but I remember it is very easy.

Thanks to all... Is there an advantage between these two options (TeamViewer and VCN)?

I recommend that you use whichever one you can get setup to work the way that you want it to. Sometimes, for whatever reason, one method won't work or won't work as you expect. It's nice to have an alternative.
