I cannot log in to pay pal using Safari but I can using Google Chrome. Why is that?

What OS version are you running? If your version of Safari is pretty old...this is very likely the reason. I've found that comparing versions of Safari & Chrome (of the same "vintage")...Chrome maintains better website compatibility. But even an older version of Chrome will eventually need to be upgraded.

Just checked, using a private window in Safari, and logged onto PayPal with no problem. If you haven't upgraded to Sierra, you may still be able to update Safari to the latest version.

Works fine here: Safari 10.0.1 on macOS Sierra 10.12.1
Both payPal UK and PayPal US - no errors.
NB: Ghostery and ABPlus disabled.

Nick's question is critical. Older operating systems such as Snow Leopard and earlier are being locked out of secure sites such as PayPal and banking institutions. David, why disable Ghostery and AB+? Is it required to get to sites in the UK?

I use PayPal all the time and I have Ghostery and AdBlock Plus enabled. I use Safari (10.0.1 - El Capitan).

I had a problem once, a while ago - card verification (verified by VISA, where you input three characters from a memorable word) wasn't working properly, so I just added Paypal to whitelist, and it worked fine.
Haven't check recently ...

Well, that's exactly what I have here, and it definitely works fine.

Do you run any ad blockers? What kind of error are you getting? Could you screenshot it?

Hi All,
I tried something yesterday. I used Google Chrome to log on, changed my password, then logged out. This morning I tried to log on in Safari, and it worked. I got in using the new password. Go figure. Thanks folks for your help.

Ok, whatever works! Seems like two separate processes to me.:Confused:
