You can either burn them as FAT32 or install the HFSUtils in your distro of linux to read normal Apple filesystem.
You can use something like Burn to burn as FAT32 (Windows, old system).
Some distros already have HFSUtils installed. What one are you running?
Thanks you guys. I couldn't find joliet on disc utility, so I downloaded "burn" and did it. I am not using linux so I do not know which version, it's the guy who is receiving the discs that is running it.

That's good. I should have mentioned "Burn" but thought you already had burning software. Anyway, "Burn" defaults to the Joliet standard so your friend should have no trouble reading the disks.
