How can I see my address book in Mail? I want to know who is there before auto complete kicks in.

When you select new mail or reply to a mail message you will see a small + sign on the "To" line of your new message. Click on that small + sign and it wil open your contacts app (your address book). If you're referring to something else, let us know.
