How to import images into Photos WITH titles & metadata?

I have some images on my desktop in a folder. All titles & metadata are erased upon import. How do I import images without losing the titles and metadata? Thanks!

When you say Titles and metadata do you mean the Exif data?

Have you manually added this info or is it straight from a camera?
