Can someone explain why photos show up as JPG and I can't send an email with attachment unless I went through each JPG? Also, why do I need windows? It confuses things like the above. I have hotmail but I don't want my phots as JPG.
Is there any way I can do without windows other than hotmail?
This is probably clear as mud. Please ask questions if it helps me get to the bottom of this.
Thanks so much.

I'll bite.

What is the source of your photographs?
What equipment are you using to store them? What equipment do you have to send them?
Do you understand what .jpg means?

That should be enough to get us started.

OK. jpg is simply a file extension indicating that the file is a compressed (lossy) image. It is actually an acronym standing for joint pictures expert group.

Photographs taken by your phone automatically carry this file extension which tells your computer which app it needs to use to open them.

So you can simply go ahead and email the image, and the recipient will be able to open it on whichever computer they use. It doesn't matter which device you used to send it, so to touch on one of your points, you don't need Windows at all.

You can send the photographs directly from your phone by selecting them in Photos/Camera Roll/Select.

Touch each image that you want to email and a blue check mark will appear on them.

When you have selected all that you want to email, touch the icon bottom left of the screen (square with up pointing arrow) and select Mail from the next screen.

Then supply the address of the recipient and send.
