I keep seeing this "security" software advertised, all Mac users should have it. I'm not aware that I have any security software on my 2013 MBP Retina.
Anybody downloaded it? Should I have it?

As mentioned, you don't normally need such software, and also as mentioned, especially no BS type software.

And just in case you didn't already know, Apple keeps your OS X System updated and protected with various Security Updates as well as fairly frequent "xprotect" files to help keep you safe and secure. Also common sense helps in knowing what type of site to not even visit and don't click on any email sites unless you know where they will take you.
