Continue to live in ignorance, is my well intentioned advice.:)

Don't need them; shouldn't dabble with them.

Not usually discussed on these Forums.

If you don't know what a torrent program is...then you probably don't need it. And even if you did know what a torrent progam was...probably a 98+% chance you don't need it.

For further info I suggest an internet search.:)

Torrents are small pieces of code that you can download and feed to an app that will use the information contained therein to hunt down people who are sharing the data that the code represents.

About 99% of the data shared via torrent is pirated music, movies, apps and pretty well anything else that isn't nailed down.

There are (apparently) legal uses for torrents (yeah, right) but none Spring readily to mind.

Sites that offer torrents also offer free malware, pop up porn and just about anything else that is undesirable.

I'm not telling you that you don't need it, because I don't know your circumstances. I'm telling you I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole, and that would be my advice to anyone.

Thanks, Nick. Personally, I wouldn't do a web search either. I know where that path leads and it ain't pretty.

If you must do it, make sure you are using a user account and not an administrator account, install malware protection and every pop up blocker you can think of and wear a diving suit too, just to be on the safe side.

Torrents are where the internet gets ugly, where people go who think everything should be free.

If people disagree with my disgust of it, tell them to install an operating system that they stole from there and watch it send their credit card info to Outer Mongolia. 'Nuff said?
