Malware possible

I have just started getting this and seems to be getting worse. I get the notice that a spyware virus is on my computer and I need to call this number 1-877-252-3992. A pop up for Advanced Mac Repair shows up, any ideas on this ?

This is on my iMac Version 10.11.6

It's a scam. Ignore it. Get a good adblocker, Ghostery, and or Privacy Badger for your browser.
I recommend ublock Origin adblocker.

Thanks, I am going to install one of the blockers you recommend, I just went through Apple support and had some virus issues corrected. All of my fault, to careless on my 'Online Experience '
