For this sort of stuff try using the app called "Malwarebytes".

And from the protection point of view; consider adding Ghostery and Adblock Plus extensions to your browser. The former stops sites from tracking you and the latter - as the name suggests - blocks most Ads, especially the intrusive and malicious ones.
