degrading video Macbook

Macbook 2010 with El Capitan 10.11.6

Hi,

When I access Skygo with Firefox the video starts off O.K. but slowly degrades until after
about ten minutes it becomes almost unwatchable.
This is on Wi-Fi with the router (D Link DSL 2740B) very close, on the cable no problem.
The router has been configured to run the Wimax 10mbs signal.
With my iPad there is no problem.
On no other streaming site do I have this problem.

Ideas please

15 inch mid 2010.
Skygo is a streaming service for the UK's main private TV provider, it uses Silverlight.
BBC iplayer, which is similar, works fine.
Having done further tests the same occurs with the LAN cable but not so severely.
I checked the internet speed on my phone when this was happening - it was around 8 Mbps.

I have been googling it all week, but thanks.
As silverlight is not even supported by Microsoft's latest browser, amongst others, hopefully Sky will adopt
a better system soon.
Clearly I am not alone in having problems.
