15.5" MacBook Pro with Retina Display
So, I just got a MacBook Pro for my school work and such and was wondering what kind of graphically intense things it could do. Like what type of image/video editing softwares it could handle, what kind of games it could run, how much of a load the processor can handle, etc etc. I can kind of transfer most info from my PC knowledge, but for the most part, Macs confuse the heck out of me so far haha. I honestly couldn't even find a comparable one to see how much it cost normally (I got it with a through my school via a added tuition fee with a student discount so if you know that would be cool just to find out).

Here's my specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15.5-inch, Mid 2015)
Processor: 2.5GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536MB (I believe it has the AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2GB)

Any tips or hints for figuring out this thing would be awesome as well. I finally figured out that double finger click was the right click after like 30 minutes lmao. Thanks in advance everyone!

Welcome to the forums and your new Mac.

You can find the price on here if you need to http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro - $2.5K

As to what will run well, that's a big question. The internals use very similar components to a PC so use whatever methodology you would on PC to determine what will and won't run! But what you have there is a very capable machine.

Before you go to far I'd start here:
https://www.apple.com/uk/support/macbasics/

Some things will seem obvious, some no so but the links on that page will help you start out on the right foot. The best way with any new OS is just to poke around, use it, do what you need to do. Post questions on this forum and have a bit of a Google.

Thanks a ton for the link to mac basics, mrplow! I'll be reading up on that and trying to familiarize myself with it in the mean time.
I'm glad I have a good one then! From what I understand some of the programs my classes will teach me can be pretty taxing for average builds.

What is it you are going to school for? Did the school also give you the software needed for your classes? There is a learning curve when switching to macOS, so be patient. And don't forget to come back with questions or thoughts.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Apple, and Mac-Forums.
