iTunes - How many songs have I got?

I copied my iTunes library to my iPad1 a few years ago. At the bottom of the list of titles it gives the total of songs I have got there.
Trying to check on my current Macbook Pro iTunes library how many songs I've got now, I can't find a total. Any ideas?

In iTunes, go to View and select Show Status Bar, it should appear at the bottom of the window.
