What is a good ftp software for Imac 5

I have been using the same thing as geekboy. The Open Source Mac webpage is a great start for finding the basic applications. Give it a try :)

Like has been said, Cyberduck is a good FTP client for the Mac and it's Free. If you want more, there is Transmit but it's Pay. For most uses Cyberduck is just fine.

Terminal is a program that comes with your Mac, which gives you access to a command-line interface. You need to learn Unix commands to use it.
