Reccomend me a keyboard

Hey I am wanting to purchase a keyboard for my mac that will do pretty much everything even maybe be able to hook up my guitar or bass through it. I want one that will do pretty much everything from synth stuff to piano and sound effects. Thanks!

Well, I actually use a Yamaha P-80 as a controller through an interface, which is probably out of your price range, being around $1000. However, my friend has one of those little M-Audio Keystation guys which I like. Nothing special, just quite an upgrade over "Musical Typing"

Can most of them work in garageband?

The Keystations? They're optimized for GarageBand. My friend uses it in GarageBand and Logic Express all the time.

yeah M-audio is pretty decent for Audio Midi gear. i have a trigger finger pad and it works great. id say there controllers are just as good.
