I Tunes will only download 180 songs to I Pod.

I have ask this question before but have never got the problem solved, here is more specifics.I have over 1600 songs in I Tunes, but can only download 180 to my I Pods (2). I have tried numerous times and followed instructions from the web on how to download to transfer I Tunes to I POD.
Would albums have any effect on this? Such as trans. and album and only listing it as one song.
I am a novice and need help getting this problem solved.
I would appreciate any help I get.

Naturally if you're trying to sync Albums to the iPods they will take up more space. Also, make sure the songs you're trying to sync to the iPods are in MP3 format. If you're trying to sync pure audio files to the iPods they will use space very quickly.
