Older iMac - Newbie Question...

Currently got the two top slots with a 2 GB chip in each - 4GB... I've got two more 4GB chips arriving to put in the two remaining slots and I'll then have a total of 12GB

Late 2009 iMac supports up to 16GB... Question is as follows...

Do I just put the new ram in the empty slots, or do I need to put the 2 2GBs on one side and the 2 4GBs on the other?

Cheers :)

Just put the two 4 Gb modules in the empty slots, you should be good to go.

Lovely - Thanks... I was thinking better safe than sorry...

RAM just arrived, popped into 2 empty slots, all good - 12 GB now being displayed :)
