Hi, the above computer has a problem with the built in audio input jack, I'm trying to use it for garageband and i have to keep tension on the jack to keep contact. It appears to be attached to the mother board. Are sound cards available for these. I don't know much about mac hardware. i have tried a usb audio adaptor but it won't work at all.

Thanks in advance.

The input jack (or the 3.5 mm plug) may simply just need a thorough cleaning...or the contact "clips" inside may need adjustment so that better contact is made. By adjustment, I mean lessening the gap between the plug's inside connectors. The 3.5 mm plug should have two bands around it...Tip-Ring-Sleeve. That is for a stereo connection. A mono plug will only have one band on the plug.

Try licking the jack. Standard procedure with helicopter headsets. :)
