Epson Surecolor P600 problem

Has anybody tried printing panoramic (banner) images on roll paper from a Mac to this printer? I have and it fails miserably! The printer scales any image larger than A3 down to A3 and prints that in the centre of the custom paper size. There is a restriction on length in the Epson printer driver of just over 1 metre on a Mac, the Windows driver allows 3 metres. I suspect that the Epson driver for Mac is a kludge. Epson support have been on this issue for three months with no outcome! If you are printing like this with success I would love to know your settings.
