Looks like 2 Thunderbolt ports. What Mac is that? MBP?

Thunderbolt2 blows anything down in speed BTW.

They are Thunderbolt ports. I use one for capturing video just like a firewire port only lots faster. They also work for connecting monitors to your mac. Here is a link with more information:

Thunderbolt (and I assume those ports are actually Thunderbolt 2) are THE fastest method of connecting external devices thus far available on consumer machines. They can handle video (compatible with miniDisplayPort), audio, and data. Currently, a lot of the stuff you might attach to them for native Thunderbolt speeds is kind of expensive (not as much as it once was, though!), but with adapters Thunderbolt ports can be nearly any kind of port ever: USB 3.0, FireWire, Ethernet, VGA/DVI/HDMI and many more.

Thank you Lisa,

They did! i'll check out the link

Hi Dave - not to add much new information from the excellent responses so far, but I have Thunderbolt Ports on my MBPro & iMac - check the links & see the screen capture below for the speeds of these ports - I'm using the port on my iMac for TM backups - have not done much on my laptop - devices seem to be more expensive than those using USB connections, but may be worth the price depending on your needs. Dave :)
