My iMAC , OS 10.6.8. on Google Chrome was hacked by "Dial Solutions",
then "MS Support" and finally by "PC Care" . all, I suspect from the Indian
continent. I think I have finally got rid of them but how can I be sure I can
use a credit card for purchases which are necessary?

You didn't say how you were "hacked". Sometimes (not always) it's user related activities/habits that put folks at risk for "hacking". And…depending on how you are defining "hacked"…it may not have been hacking. I and others have seen the word "hack" misused to describe something else.

Another problem is the OS version you are running (great that you mentioned this). OS 10.6.8 no longer receives security updates from Apple. So (if possible)…upgrading your computers OS can help.
