Do most Mac users use a keyboard cover, one of those translucent rubbery things? Without it, will the keys wear out too quickly? Thank you.

Never used one. Never seen the point. Such a cover would make my clumsy typing even more clumsy. My keyboards last for years.

What is far more important is to keep them clean, free of dust and NEVER let any fluids within a mile of them.

I don't use one either. But, I don't have an Apple keyboard.

Use one all the time and there is no difference in typing and I qualified years ago at 60 w.p.m. Then again I use a wireless keyboard and trackpad. Cheapest insurance for a few backs against a spill and have never had a key wear out, replace the skins every few years as the e, i, o,l, and space bar keys do wear.
