I am using hot corners (and they are great). But is there some way that I can, no matter what I am doing regarding apps and windows, access the desktop with one stroke or click? Thanks!

Let's say you have multiple applications open at the same time (internet browser, iTunes, Mac App Store, mail program, Microsoft Office, etc. etc.). And all of these windows are stacked one on top of the other…thus a lot of windows to close, minimize, or move around to get to the desktop. The fastest way I get to the desktop is using the F11 key.

Because the F11 key has functions usually shared with it (such as "volume down")…to get the F11 key…you have to press the "fn" key first. So give it a try…and see if you like it. Have a bunch of windows open…then press "fn" and the F11 key…and see what happens.:) Then do the same thing to put all the windows back where they were.

It's not exactly "one-click". But it is pretty fast.:)

Or you could just go to your User (Home) folder and make an Alias of your Desktop folder and drag it to your Dock, or even onto your Desktop.

There's also four fingers, swipe up on a trackpad.

That's a good one:)…I knew there was a trackpad swipe command that would do something like that. Just one issue…I don't think that this 4-finger swipe command actually allows you to get access to the desktop itself. If I'm doing it correctly…it only allows quick switching between application windows.
