My 2010 Mac Book Pro recently blew up and I had to get a new one so I got a Mac Book Air.

I would like to retrieve some photos and videos from the old Mac's iPhoto library but not to retrieve the whole library which is 74 GB.

Is this possible and how?
Thanks.

You probably need to restore the entire library first. Once you've restored the library you can individually extract those photos and videos you want and then discard or move the library elsewhere. I don't believe you can individually extract photos or videos from the backed up photo library without first restoring the entire file.
