Messages

Hello,

My wives messages to me from Iphone to Iphone also appear on the mac. I presume I have set something up wrong can anyone help?

You didn't provide much info to go on, however, Messages setup on your iPhone and the wife's will appear in your Messages app on your Mac as long as all are logged in at iCloud using the same Apple ID. That's the way I have mine and my wife's iPhones setup. Our messages appear on my iMac which is actually convenient when I'm at home.

Did Wife #1 find messages from Wife #2

You can simply disable Messages. If you open Messages and go to Preferences, there should be an option there to remove or disable accounts (I'm away from my Mac so I'm going on memory here).

How do I disable messages on the mac? I opened preferences but cannot disable,

And no, my work messages are popping up on the mac and want to keep it tidy.

On the mac you do not want the messages to show on - Open and click on Messages -> Preferences -> Accounts -> on the left side click on the account that has iMessage listed below it -> on the right side under Apple ID uncheck "Enable this account". That should do it.
