Hi,
just bought a time machine and was having some range issues. The device is presently on a table at a height of approx four feet.
Is there an optimal height so that coverage is enhanced.

Welcome to the Mac-Forums.

First, it's not a time machine unless you're planning on going back or forward in time. ;) It's called a Time Capsule (I changed your title). Place the TC as high as you can get it and in a location where its central to your usage. I have my WiFi Router on top of a book shelf about 8 feet high. With most homes having 10 foot ceilings you may have to improvise.

Just to add, if it's the current version of TC then the model has modified wireless technology which apparently optimises the signal accounting for the device's location (Apple show a horizontal cone diagram by way of description) they call it a 'beam forming antennae array' although best practise for wireless transmitters is to put them as high as possible. But don't put a jar of screws, nuts and bolts near it like I did!

I love it. That movie occasionally plays on one of our cable channels that shows older films. I watched it again (for the third time) just the other day. :)

Since this version of the Time Machine was from 1960. When "George" (H.G. Wells) travels to the future and encounters the "Eloi" (the "food" humans of the future for the "Morlocks"). I always felt that due to it being 1960 (in real life)…the Eloi characters had a certain "beatnik" feel to them (maybe the films director meant to do this).

Of course Sly with Australia's best export of the 60's Rod Taylor.

One suggestion prad is not have the TC near to a hands free phone, particularly a Uniden as they can cause interference.

Hey Harry... not too many folks nowadays still have a wired home phone. Got rid of mine about 5 years ago and just use our cell phones. But I do remember the first phone our family had at my grandmother's house. It was a party line phone. Pick it up and hear your neighbor's conversations.

With such poor quality cell phone reception in rural Australia that is an exception Charlie. Things were looking up with the National Broadband Network with all fibre optics and 4G mobile rollout but our 'new' 'shoot'emdead' ultra right wing government put a stop to all 'that useless expenditure' so stuck with old copper cables and landlines.
