Hey All

Since I've bought my new 5k imac, I'm gonna sell my old macbook pro, i've copied all important files to an external drive and everything, just wanting to know how to reboot it to factory settings so I can sell it safely?

Macbook Pro ( Mid 2012 ) 10.10.4

Thanks :)

Use these instructions to get back to the Recovery Console of OS X and then erase the contents of your HD and do a fresh installation of OS X. Once completed, just power it off. When the new buyer starts it up for the first time, it will take them through the initial setup process to get their account/profile setup.

Just another Apple Support Article which may be useful - primarily the first suggestion, i.e. deauthorize your laptop, if needed. Dave :)
