Canon Digital Rebel not importing into Photo

I have a Canon Digital Rebel DS6041. When I connect it to Photo it recognizes the camera, gives all of the normal prompts then gets stuck when I go to import. This is happening with Image Capture and Adobe Lightroom as well. It recognizes the camera, then when it goes to import it gets stuck. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be going on.

Problem reading the camera card I would expect. Could be the camera's fault, could be the card's fault. Can you try the card reader (if your Mac has one), or swap cards to see if that changes anything?
