Hi there,

New here.

Having a few probs with Mac and need some guidance.

Mac has been much slower in the last few weeks. Can't pinpoint why. Seems to be internet mostly. Pages open much more slowly. Even just scrolling is a pain in the behind as there is a delay with each swipe of my trackpad. Sometimes longer delay than other times. Fairly annoying.

Talked to a Comcast guy yesterday who after having me run a speed test said that my speed is great so it must be my Mac.

Speed Test Results:
PING - 31 ms
Download Speed - 89.28 mbps
Upload Speed - 6.01 mbps

This is all greek to me, but he said that this was great. ??

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, I already did a permissions disc repair. Didn't help.

I am not a techy so if you have any help for me, unfortunately you may have to speak to me as if I was a kindergartner. :)

Thanks all!

right click your hard drive icon on your macintoshes screen and select get info and see how much free space you have you should have at least 40 % to 80% free space on your hard drive to keep your machine healthy and running stable.

- What exact Mac model computer do you have? I mean exact…don't just say (for example)..."MacBook Pro".;)
- How much ram does it have?
- How often do you reboot the computer?
- How full is the internal storage (gigs used & gigs free)?

Answers to these questions will be a good start.

I wonder sometimes Nick et al, do so many first time posters just fall through some cracks somewhere and just disappear…??? Hmmm…??? Or are the questions for the required answers just too much to ask..??? ;)

I think that 1st time posters don't realize how good/fast we are at responding to questions! Thus they may not check back often or quickly since they may not be expecting such a fast response. Once they "catch on" to how good we are…they check back often!;)

Plus it's Sunday. Maybe the OP is outside climbing El Capitan in Yosemite!!!;)
